A Letter from Our President
Suburban Service League is an all-volunteer organization with a mission to provide financial assistance through fundraising events to individuals and organizations in need. We focus on the southern suburbs of Chicago. Most likely, you know someone who has been touched by the League.
Our members solicit financial support from corporations, small businesses, and individuals. We also employ a “hands on” approach by working side-by-side and participate in a myriad of activities that support the charities with whom we work.
For 54 years, these women have given back to charities and individuals located in our immediate backyard or our neighboring communities since each year we financially support approximately 56 charities and 25 individuals. We provide meals, beds, bedding, clothes, day-to day living supplies, as well as financially support individual education needs with grants to local community colleges & High Schools.
Some of the charities Suburban Service Leagues supports include: Aunt Martha’s, Children’s Advocacy Center of Southwest Cook County, Lincoln-way Special Recreation Foundation, Respond Now, Sertoma Centre, SOS Children’s Village, PADS, The Cancer Support Center, Food pantries, Together We Cope, Crisis Center for South Suburbia, and Journey. For a complete list, please visit our site (http://suburbanserviceleague.
In the past 11 years our small, dedicated group has raised over one million dollars and are proud to report that every dollar raised goes directly back into the communities we serve. We closely scrutinized every donated dollar to assure legitimate funding.
If you would like to send a donation, attend our fundraiser, An Evening with The Mad Hatter, or learn more about us, please feel free to contact me at info@SuburbanServiceLeague.
Peace and all good! ~ Eileen C. Greenawalt
